Project Relevant results Usage and improvements in NEFFICS 
ASPIRE[1] The ASPIRE project will change the current RFID deployment paradigm, through introducing and boosting a shift towards royalty-free RFID middleware, while also placing the middleware at the heart of RFID infrastructures. NEFFICS will be able to build on Internet of Things (IoT) middleware from ASPIRE.
AT-ONE[2] The AT-ONE project will further develop the area of service-design together with Norwegian research- and teaching organizations and industry. It will develop methods, knowledge, service innovations and create a centre of competence in service innovation to serve Norwegian industry.  AT-ONE develops a workshop oriented service design approach. NEFFICS will build on that knowledge and transform some of those processes to an online environment to enable a greater outreach
COIN[3] (ICT-2008-216256) The COIN project aims to design and develop a pervasive, adaptive service platform to host services for Enterprise Interoperability (EI) and Enterprise Collaboration (EC) and make them available under the Software-as-a-Service Utility (SaaS-U) business model to European enterprises (and SMEs in particular) for running their business in a secure, reliable and efficient way. By integrating the use of the COIN platform in the NEFFICS platform, we will provide experience and feedback in integrating the Enterprise Collaboration and Enterprise Interoperability services. This will range from new services or added functionality to already existing services, to the compliancy with the ISU concepts. 
MAGNET (IST-507102) and MAGNET Beyond[4]  (IST-027396)

 

MAGNET Beyond is a continuation of the MAGNET project, taking the MAGNET vision of personal services over Personal Networks a step closer to reality. It introduces new technologies, systems, and applications that are at the same time user-centric and secure. MAGNET Beyond will develop user-centric business model concepts for secure Personal Networks in multi-network, multi-device, and multi-user environments. NEFFICS will make use of a number of technological and business model experience and results of the Magnet and the Magnet Beyond project created by the CTIF and ICI including research and networks, access to innovationhubs other execution environments. 
EU Social and Regional Fond NUT 2, priority 1.1. innovation, knowledgesharing and knowledge development (ERDFN – 06 – 0024) The ICI project aims at innovating 15 networkbased business models for the global market between each a minimum of 5 different SME´s and knowledge partners (Universities,GTS, Knowledge consultancies). ICI aims at developing a International innovation lab for innovating business models based on networks. ICI aims at establishing ICI in minimum 3 innovation hubs on the Global market – Silcon Valley, Shanghai, Münich and has already increased this to also Mumbai, Athens, Rom, Tokyo and Sao Paulo. NEFFICS will make use of a number of modules, lab facilities and results of the ICI project created by the ICI project, including research and networks, access to innovationhubs other execution environments.
MODELPLEX[5] (FP6-IST-034081) The goal of MODELPLEX is to develop an open solution for complex systems engineering improving quality and productivity exploiting advances in model-driven development; to lead its industrialization; and to ensure its successful adoption by the industry. NEFFICS will make use of a number of the MDE-related technologies created by the MODELWARE project, including transformations tools from visual composition and chaining models to BPEL and other execution environments.
NETworked POWER[6] The innovation of NETworked POWER is based on utilizing social software technologies for the consumer market for innovation purposes at the commercial level in the industry, and at the societal level in the NPOs. The novelty of NETPOWER is particularly related to:

  • New social software solutions for innovation.
  • ·         New knowledge on innovation through social software.
  • ·         New knowledge on how to increase involvement of citizens in policy-making processes
  • ·         New methods and processes supporting the development of professional purpose social software
NEFFICS will make use of knowledge about end-users participation in innovation using social software solutions developed in NETworked POWER
OPAALS[7] OPAALS is a multi-disciplinary network of research excellence for developing the science and technology behind Digital Ecosystems. Digital Ecosystems represent the next generation of Internet usage. Applicable to many fields, they will perhaps have the greatest effect in enabling Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to compete on the global stage. Based on open and low-cost peer-to-peer architectures, Digital Ecosystems represent the future of technical, social, and economic aspects of the connected world. NEFFICS will draw on OPAALS’ business models for Digital Business Ecosystems and the analysis of the organization of discourse in epistemic cultures as one element of the project baseline on business and innovation models. NEFFICS will also use OPAALS’ approach to open knowledge (OKS) as a reference for innovation management.
Proact – DG6[8] (FP6-2004-KNOW-REG-2) In ProAct, 4 old and 4 new member states of the EU (Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands the UK and the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) join forces in search of best practice of regional innovation policy implementation. The main analytical method is process benchmarking in order to summarise the effective tools and methods of regional research and innovation policy implementation and to explore coordination possibilities between the developed and less developed EU regions’ innovation policy in general and between the ProAct consortia members in particular. NEFFICS will make use of a number of innovation and business model innovation experience and results of the Proact Project created by the Proact consortium and ICI including research and networks, access to innovation partners and other execution environments.
SHAPE[9] (ICT-2007-216408) The SHAPE project aims to support the development and realization of enterprise systems based on a Semantically-enabled Heterogeneous service Architecture (SHA). SHA extends Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) with semantics and heterogeneous infrastructures (Web services, Agents, Semantic Web Services, P2P and Grid) under a unified service oriented approach. SHAPE has contributed to the Service oriented architecture Modeling Language (SoaML) specification which will be a key input to the work on networked process and service modelling extensions in NEFFICS.
Women in Business (WIP) – EU – Regional Fond

 

Women in Business is a 3 year innovation and new business model project that focuses on Norwegian, Swedish and Danish women owned companies. The aims are to develop sustainable innovation, growth and new business in networks. NEFFICS will make use of a number of innovation processes and business model innovation experience and results of the WIP Project created by the ICI including research and networks, access to innovation partners and other execution environments.
